Frank Walsh has accumulated a wealth of business experience, both as a business owner and also through his advisory/mentoring role to management, with the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC). He has worked as the Managing Director of JW Hire & Sales Ltd, a plant and tool hire company in the construction/DIY industry. He started his own company in 1999, delivering training and consultancy services to business in the areas of HR, Employment Legislation, and Management Training. This business has evolved into a full Business Coaching programme covering every area of business. His role with IBEC saw him deal with a personal case-list of up to150 companies, spanning the private and public sectors, in businesses ranging from IT to finance, manufacturing, logistics and retail. The role involved advising organisations in areas such as business planning, performance management, team building, change management and negotiations, as well as representing companies in the Employment Court system.
Prior to his move into the business sphere, Frank served as an Officer in the Irish Defence Forces, working at the highest levels of that organisation in Ireland, while also undertaking overseas assignments with the United Nations in high conflict areas such as Lebanon and Bosnia.
Frank also retained his interest in the educational area. He has a teaching degree in Physical Education and English from Thomond College of Education, (now the University of Limerick), and an MSc in Training and Performance Management from Leicester University. He has delivered many public training programmes for IBEC in the areas of Employment Legislation and management practice. He is also a past lecturer at the National College of Ireland.
Frank, in his work as a Business Coach, brings all of these experiences to bear on the issues that face business owners in challenging times. This experience, married to a genuine interest in developing the individual, has been at the centre of Franks work, and to the success that he has helped bring to many businesses.
Frank lives in Clontarf, Dublin, with his wife Anne and two girls, Claire and Maeve
